Self-Affirmation and Its Relationship to Psychological and Social Adjustment Among a Sample of Students at The University of Kufra

Abstract

The research aims to identify the correlation between self-affirmation, psychological and social compatibility, and to know the differences between the average scores of the sample of the research on the scale of self-affirmation, psychological and social compatibility depending on the gender and age variable. The research sample consisted of (155) students from the University of Benghazi, Al Kufra branch, and applied the standards of affirmation, psychological and social compatibility, after the verification of their reliability and consistency. The results indicated that the rate of affirmation among the sample was 10.8%, which is low, and the ratio of psychological and social compatibility among the sample was 10.7%, which is low. The study also found that there are significant differences between males and females at the level of self- affirmation and these differences were in favor of males, while the study found differences between males and females in the level of psychological and social compatibility, but these differences are not significant.
